HP Serviceguard with Oracle E Business Suite 12.1.1
Hi All,
I am doing an installation of Oracle E Business Suite 12.1.1 on HP-UX 11.31. The database node of the installation will be part of a service guard cluster. The database cluster is configured as follows:
.
sgdb001
sgdb002
--> Logical/Virtual Name = sgebsdb
.
I've run rapidwiz from the node sgdb001 as follows:
.
rapidwiz -servername sgebsdb
.
However when I get to the database Node screen, I see that the logical/virtual name of the cluster is not being used - in fact it is the hostname of the server that rapidwiz is run from i.e sgdb001. Now I've attempted to install this by manually specifying the virtual name and proceeding and it installs fine. However I'm curious as to whether the cluster may not be setup correctly? Then again when I attempt to connect to the database by the logical/virtual name it connects fine and a sql query shows I am connected to the node that is active i.e sgdb001. Anyway has anyone done a similar install, and have some comments or experiences to share? I'd appreciate it thanks.

Re: HP Serviceguard with Oracle E Business Suite 12.1.1
Shalom,
You may have to play some tricks with /etc/hosts name resolution on the installation node to make this work.
The database itself is smart enough to let you know what node it is actually running on and that is not necessarily a deal killer as far as running.
Also see how you are doing tnsnames.ora that could be a factor in the current results.
