HP Spacebal 4000 FLX driver

Hi I just would like to ask if the HP SPACEBALL 4000 FLX needs a sofware(drivers) in order to work on designing software? if so where can i download the installation software

AFAIR, I've seen this thing a couple of years ago and I'm pretty sure, the designing software knows how to handle it. There is now driver needed from the OS side, the application will bring it. For the OS, it is just a mouse. As mentioned, it is years ago.
