HP Unix - GCA protocol service

Hi

I am getting the following error message when i try to access my database thru' ingmenu on my HP-Unix 10.2
GCA protocol service (GCA_REQUEST) failure.

Is there a protocol that is not running ? and if so how can i start this protocol.

In addition the main problem is that one of the volumes is not working but without this volume being up i was able to work on my database earlier, which is not happening now.

Please reply.
