HP Unix upgrade 11.00 to 11.11
We have replaced our Unix box from 11.00 to 11.11 since the replacement we have dumb terminals connected via a Shiva Port Atom box. When some users now logs on they gets this message Checking Disc Quota....Please Wait. So to process further they have to have to switch there dumb terminal screens off and back on again to see the next screen, is this down to data flow as XOFF has been enabled on the terminal screen which are Wyse60 and has been enabled on the Shiva boxes themselves.
We have 20 branches with only 5 branches being affect by this...
Baud Auto
Flow In X0FF
Flow Out XOFF
Please advised as I am going balder by the day As I am riping my hair out

Re: HP Unix upgrade 11.00 to 11.11
I'm a dumb terminal myself when it comes to terminal issues, so please don't feel insulted if You already checked that, but...
- maybe a difference in /etc/profile? a lot of terminal processing and adjusting for the shell is done there, and it seems the exact moment where Your users login process stops.
- otherwise, check for differences in terminfo / termcap (I'm NOOOO help there)

yesterday I stood at the edge. Today I'm one step ahead.

Verify the /etc/profile and .profile files. You'll find reference to checking for disk quotas. Copy the good onto the bad.
