You can not. It supports only 64 bit os.

It will run on a K or T class box :).

Re: HP-UX 10.2 on A6889A (rp2430)

10.20 was obsolete in Dec 2001, long before there was ever an rp-anything. All rp-series computers require a 64bit operatings system--a few will run 11.00 in 64bit, most new ones will not--they require 11.11 as a minimum. The very latest rp-computers will require 11.11 ver 2 and nothing earlier will work at all. This is one of those "known not work, can't be made to work, code is just too old" situations.

Jonathan,
find an old K-class or even a E-3x class to load 10.20. (Ebay is a great place to look). BTW, the rp24xx have the PA8500 or PA86xx, CPU models which only support 11.00 or 11.11.

Re: HP-UX 10.2 on A6889A (rp2430)

I think Bill may be wrong on his comment, which is very unusual. He said that some new rp's need 11i v2 and I think they can all run 11i v1. I still think that only the Integrity servers require 11i v2. The pa-8900 processors can run 11i v1 (11.11).
The rp2430 used pa-8500 processors and later versions. Some of the pa-8500 based workstations, could run 10.20, but no server that that chip or later ever supported 10.20 which was introduced about 9 years ago.
