HP-UX 11.0 - US-Robotics modem

I've connected a US-Robotics modem, to use for remote support, to the PCI-Serial card of a A500 system using the cable (ref. A5191) with 3x DB-9 connectors (console, UPS, remote). The cu command works normally but after a few seconds the code ATV1Q0 is displayed and further configuration is impossible. I tried 4 models of US-Robotics modems with the same result. When I do the same thing on a class D with HP-UX 10.20 it works fine.
What can I try to fix this problem ?

What command are you using to launch cu? Have you tried using the -d4 parm to get diagnostic info?

Re: HP-UX 11.0 - US-Robotics modem

Dirk,
The A-Class is able to send an automatic initialization string to the modem. To switch it off, you have to logon to the GSP and enter the 'CA' command. The CA command will ask you a bunch of question. The important one is:

GSP>ca
ca

Sending Configuration Strings to Modem will be:Enabled
Please confirm (Y/[N]) : N
F Sending Configuration Strings to Modem will be updated.

For your configuration " Sending Configuration Strings to Modem" must be Disabled!

Re: HP-UX 11.0 - US-Robotics modem

Thanks, the solution was the CA command and to be sure I set also the ER (Enable/Disable remote) to S (Session controlled by O.S.)

The cu command I use is : cu -lcul0p2
