HP-UX 11.00 print spooler

I'm new at UNIX in general. When we shutdown our system for a hardware upgrade there were no longer any print jobs pending. We know at lease one job was being held in the queue until the upgrade was complete. Is it normal for the queue to be cleared when the system is shutdown?

YES, it depends on the let of time the system was down and the size of the print job.
When We Seek To Discover The Best In Others, We Somehow Bring Out The Best In Ourselves.

Yes, The spooler will hold a job if the spooler is stopped and the job will restart from the beginning when the spooler is started but if the system is rebooted, the job is lost.

Shutdown the system, job(s) are gone.
