HP-UX 11.31 (Itanium) Ignite Server - to Restore 11.11 Clients
Amigos,
For DR - we're getting a new Itanium Server with 11.31 pre-loaded. It will act as our DR Ignite Archives repository and Ignite Serevr.
I know this is possible but I just want to get confirmation about the process.
- Install Ignite-UX C.X.X (or whatever is the latest) on All 11.11 CLients and Itanium Serbver
- move /var/opt/ignite TREE from old 11.11 PARISC server to new server.
- Change LAN Address directories in /var/opt/ignite/clients to reflect DR Site LAN addresses.
Is the above correct?

Yes - we just did this as well (not just for DR but our prod Ignite server as well)...
It's quite easy - we just unmounted the storage from one server and mounted it on the new server.
We didn't even have to upgrade client Ignite software...just update the new server name.

Re: HP-UX 11.31 (Itanium) Ignite Server - to Restore 11.11 Clients
Shalom,
The above is correct, but you must follow the procedures for building a Ignite image for versions of the OS. There must be a copy of the core 11.11 OS swcopied into the Ignite respository, smilar to the procedure used to build Golden Images.
