HP-UX 11 Error, any suggestions?

Hello,
I am new to these forums and am in dire need of some good suggestions to the problem I have encountered.

Here is my scenerio...
I am a Junior SA and have been tasked with figuring out what the problem is with one of our servers. I have extremely limited knowledge when it comes to Unix errors. SO, here it goes..

A co-worker and I rebooted one of our servers the other night. He then proceeded to create an ignite tape on our "coop" server. After doing this, when I rebooted the server, I recieved this error message:

INIT: Command is responding too rapidly will try again in 5 minutes.
id:cons /usr/sbin/getty console console"

id:samd "/usr/sam/lbin/samd # system mgmt daemon"


I really have not a clue as to what is wrong. The only thing that I do know is that these errors surfaced after creating an ignite tape.

You do not mention what type of server is this. Do y ou know if there is a mouse/keyboard attached?

Check the /etc/inittab file for errors.
Also check and see if the /usr/lib/dld.sl file is present.

Thank you for your response and directing me towards those forums. Yes, there is a keyboard and mouse connected to the server.

In the other forum, it mentions a network issue. I know for a fact that this isn't the problem. The server is indeed connected to the network.
