HP-UX 11.x on D200 server

Can anyone tell me whether HP-UX 11.x could be run on a D200 machine? No information for D200 is available in the "HP-UX version and server model support matrix".

As I understand it hpux 11.00 will run on a D200 at 32 bit but not 64 bit.

Model CPU Speed(MHz) 64/32 bit Min.firmware rev.

D270/D370 PA8000 160 Both 38.27 or later
D280/D380 PA8000 180 Both 38.27 or later
D390 PA8200 240 Both 38.28 or later

All other D-class servers support HP-UX 11.00 32-bit operation only.

Hi,

Based on the /etc/.supported_bits on my HP-UX machine, doesn't seem to be supported.

$ uname -r
B.11.00
$ grep D200 /etc/.supported_bits

Well I can't find an external web site that lists the D200 specifically : the best I could find was :

I agree several of our severs /etc/.supported_bits do not list the D200 but this is *probably* due too the release/version of 11.00 they have installed. The general feeling in the UKRC is yes at 32 bit.

According to http://www.alimartech.com/9000_servers.htm, the PA-RISC chipset used for D200 is PA7100LC.

Kinda old if you ask me. Why are you still using this machine? :)

Hi,
testing D200 I tried to install HPUX 11.0 on D200. I coudnt install OS on the box with only 32 MB of phisical memory but after adding next 32 MB the instalation went without any problems.

I currently have multiple D200 box's running DNS BIND 9.x on HP-UX 11.0 and a couple on 11.i . I would suggest using no less then 256mb ram for 11.i
