HP-UX 11i client on an HP-UX 11.00 network
Hi there --
I want to upgrade one of our workstations currently running 11.00 to 11i version 1. The NIS network the client in question is on is HP-UX 11.00.
Are there any dangers in upgrading the client to 11i and still have it part of the 11.00 domain? Thanks.

Re: HP-UX 11i client on an HP-UX 11.00 network
Shalom,
No dangers other than upgrade-ux.
Upgrade-ux is a disaster area with wheels attached. It is extremely unreliable. I recommend a cold installation.
You will have no problem integrating your 11i box into your NIS domain so long as you don't use shadow passwords or trusted system.
