Re: HP Ux 11i error

Shalom,

I don't see anything definitive. Seems there is something going on with cpu0

I would suggest if the system boots, running dmesg and mstm/cstm or xstm and test the hardware.

Re: HP Ux 11i error

Hi,

these are the selftest logs.
What system you are on?
Just in case this is a workstation, you can use a graphics console instead of a serial.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: HP Ux 11i error

its a HP C8000 with a 4GB RAM and 146GB HDD.

I understand these are system self tests.

1. I need to know how to disable them.
2. After disabling them, will it have any effect on the system ?

Re: HP Ux 11i error

What concole you are using?

Anyway, this is NOT an error!

(If you disable selftest, there are no selftest running - don't wonder if failures won't be detected)

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP Ux 11i error

There's no console on site. My colleague is using a term emulation software on a laptop and the physical connection is via a serial to USB connector .

Re: HP Ux 11i error

Basically you have a console on site, in this case it's the laptop of your colleague.
The serial connection on such a system is the console port.
During a reboot you will always get those messages on the console port, like already suggested connect a monitor to the system if possible.
Together with an usb mouse and keyboard ( preferably HP, seen weird stuff with other brands on HP9000 workstations ) you can use it like a normal workstation.
( can't remember if a C8000 has onboard video though )
Another option is to turn on fastboot.
This will skip a huge part of selftests so isn't recommended but you will end up with less messages.
To turn off fastboot, interrupt the boot proces and at the prompt type : co fb on
