HP-UX 11i V3 on HP B2600 Workstation

Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible to run Hp-UX 11i V3 on HP B2600.(whith a quality pack, or upgrade B2600...).

If not, What kind of workstation run on HP-UX 11i V3.

Sorry to say that v3 isn't supported on this workstation - see p44 here:

PA-RISC workstations are not only not supported, even not working with 11.31.

You may have more luck with Itanium workstations (also not supported, but maybe working).

Best would be to get an older Itanium server, e.g. rx2600 or 2620.

ok, I have an another question,

So, There is another workstation on PA-RISC architecture (HP C8000).

This workstation run on HP-UX 11i V2 but I don't know if this workstation is supported by HP ? is it obsolete ?

The C8000 was sold until end of 2008 (IIRC) and is supported with 11.11 only.

Actually, HP told me there is no workstation based on Itanium. and the PA-RISC architecture is not supported for HP-UX 11i v2.

HP-UX 11i v3 run only on server.

I am in a deadlock, because I can't change the type of OS (exclusively HP-UX), porting software is too complex.

The new generation of workstation runs on Linux or Windows.

There is an "office friendly" version of the rx2660 which is targeted for people who need to install it under a desk. Instead of being rackmount, it is installed on a pedestal, and has fans that are quieter. You can hook up a keyboard and mouse to it. It's as close as you can get to a workstation to run HP-UX.

Be sure to specify your need to your HP rep to ensure you get the right components. For example, you will need to add a graphics card as it doesn't come with any by default.

If you care about performance and Aries is too slow, you will have to recompile your application on Integrity.
