Integrity server running HP-UX 11i V3 will be the primary conf. but some of my QAD users are still using PA boxes running HP-UX 11i V1. Is there anyone knows if QAD EBII with progress DB could run on HP-UX V3? We once try to get answer from QAD inc. but failed. Any suggestiong is welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Stan

Re: HP-UX 11i V3 support matrix for QAD products ?
a) Dennis is right. What works in earlier relases of HP-UX, should work on 11.31 too.
b) According to ISV Application search that
I performed at HP, eBxx version 7.2.1 is
available for HP-UX 11.31.
Likewise, Progress OpenEdge Enterprise RDBMS
version 10.1C is available for HP-UX 11.31.
Is that what you were after?
One important note, as provided by HP:
"Please advise customers that they must perform their own independent third party application availability verification before making any purchase decision and that the application availability information provided herein is provided 'As Is' without warranties of any kind."
c) Finally, a friendly advice. I would
be very worried and unhappy if vendor
refused to speak to me. At least, you
deserve some answers from QAD and it
is in their interest to reply to you
as soon as possible.

Re: HP-UX 11i V3 support matrix for QAD products ?
http://www.qad.com/mfg-pro.html
This link indicates support for HP hardware, but doesn't mention what:
http://www.qad.com/solutioncenter/Technology/Hardware-Software+Platforms
Note the illustrated OSes (RH, a couple other flavors of Linux and the dreaded Windoooz). Looking at the "Product Data Sheet" from the link found on the second linked page above, you find this rather interesting pile of marketing tripe:
"Common platforms for commercial Unix applications include IBM's AIX, Hewlett Packard HP UX or Sun's Solaris operating system. However, with Linux being adopted by many hardware vendors, the application is capable of deploying on most Intel environments that support the Linux operating system. Customers who have a hybrid operating strategy with a combination of Unix and Microsoft platforms can deploy the application with equal
comfort."
not one specific mention of hardware / software anywhere..
as noted above, the existing application should run on the newer OS.
I'm am somewhat struck by the "lack of substance" to the documentation available. No "warm fuzzies" there, just lots of buzzwords.
As noted earlier, given the lack of vendor response, I'd start looking elsewhere...

Re: HP-UX 11i V3 support matrix for QAD products ?
Thanks for your advice, it is quite helpful. We are also interested in the "ISV Application Search". Is it possible for us to perform it by ourselves?
Warmest Regards,
Stan

SolutionOf course you can.
Here is the URL:
https://h20299.www2.hp.com/CustomerTool/isv_status.aspx?st=cnltr&qry=q
Note that you have to register (but it
is a simple process).
HP is very careful about privacy, so
do not worry. Your information is safe.
And before you close the thread,
be kind to us poor souls and give us
some points :)
Cheers,
