Hello,
The IP adress of the machine was changed
with SAM but nobody knows what IP adress was assigned to the machine.
Unfortunately, the CONSOLE is not sending LOGIN anygmore as we converted it to serial port for coms.
How should we take control again to this machine ?
At the rear of the machine there is 2 Ethernet ports and one indicates "console"
Many Thanks for help.!!!!
Erick

Solution
What type of machine is this?
1. Try in intrupting the boot sequence and go to single user mode.
2. If you know the range of IP addresss you would have assigned, disconnect the machine from network and connect a PC or laptop with a crossed cable directly to the server and start pinging...see to which IP address the ping responds.
I know there is a freeware software where you provide the range and it send a ping 64bit packet and tells what IP the device is assigned..

Re: HP UX 11i
What model of machine is it?? If it's something like an RP series, you could connect a laptop and gain entry via the MP port.
Little more information might help us to be able to help you....
Thanks,
Rita

Re: HP UX 11i
If you have a machine that can sniff your network, you could look for strange network packets. Or use a cross cable between the sniffer and your HPUX server to see if any packet is sent from a strange/wrong IP adress.
The console ethernet port is probably of a webconsole. It depends on whether this is configured if you can use it or have to do the same sniffing...

Every problem has at least one solution. Only some solutions are harder to find.
