HP-UX 11iv3 taking long time to stop services

Hi,

We are getting the following message in our Superdome console for one of our partitions (partition name: SPARE):-

INIT: Command is respawning too rapidly.
Will try again in 5 minutes.
Check for possible errors.
id:icap "/usr/lbin/icapd # Instant Capacity daemon"

Further, it is taking a very long time to reboot that partition.

It is taking a very long time to stop particularly the Hostagent and hostwatchdog services

I was also getting these errors in my servers. As this service was not much important, we have disabled.

Hi,

We also faced the same issue on of our server which was taking 10 hr. to shutdown and 10 hr. to boot.
We have change so many things but no success at last we remove the local console now the server is reboot within 40 minuts.

so try to remove the local console and check with remote console.

Hi! would like to add the following:-

In the partition, /opt/xppa/hostagent/log/PerformanceAdvisorXP.log is saying as below:-

PerformanceAdvisor: com.hp.xpsl.xml.SerializingMethods.: com.hp.xpsl.xml.XMLExceptionIO: Connection refused (errno :239) - Management server is not reachable.Please check whether PA services are running in MS

So, checked all services in MS (HpssPaTomcat
HpssSecurity
hpssPaTomcatMonitor
Oracle PADB VSS Writer Service
OracleServicePADB
OracleXP_PA_DBTNSListener) are all running fine. ping is also happening.
