HP-UX 9.x and Java development
Hi,
I am trying learn a little about UNIX, and my particular interest is Java/Web development in a UNIX environment.
I've been leant a HP-UX machine running 9.x which I am accessing through Exceed running under Win95.
I am just wondering what Java resources are available for 9.x.
Can I use JRE's designed for newer versions of HP-UX on the my machine?
Can I get a web server running on this particular machine?
Basically where do I start?
Any help would be appreciated.
Sincerely
Hussein Deen

Re: HP-UX 9.x and Java development
I would start by updating the OS to at least 11.0, then worry about the rest. All the other stuff is either available on 11.0 or comes with it. Ver 9 is old.
No matter where you go, there you are.
