HP-UX & netscape
Hi,
Whenever I try to open netscape from a hp-ux machine I keep getting the following error message.
"
netscape: The Motif keysyms seem not to be defined.
This is usually because the proper XKeysymDB file was not found.
You can set the $XKEYSYMDB environment variable to the location of a file which contains the right keysyms.
Without the right XKeysymDB, many warnings will be generated, and most keyboard accelerators will not work.
(An appropriate XKeysymDB file was included with the netscape distribution.)
"
I can open a netscape window, but everything on it appears disabled.
Can anybody tell me how I can fix this problem.
Thanks in advance,
Colm.

Re: HP-UX & netscape
Can you give more info?
What version of HPUX and Netscape are you using?
Is the version of Netscape and HP depot version or direct from Netscape?

Re: HP-UX & netscape
Version 3.01? That's pretty old. If you have the network bandwith to download it, I'd recommend getting 4.7x from http://software.hp.com/
In the mean time, check the installed directory of netscape for a README-type file. There is probably a reference to XKEYSYMDB. The 3.01 rev is probably looking for the file somewhere besides /usr/lib/X11/.
Try:
export XKEYSYMDB=/usr/lib/X11/XKeysymDB
