Re: HP-UX Bastille 2.1 released!
While I've used Bastille in this version without incident and in previous versions without incident, I've run into this snag today that maybe you'd like to know about and provide a potential solution.
I've used the depot on a straight forward 11i install using the 11i operating environment CD's from March 2003 on an L class.
Today, I've installed a K580 with the latest "Foundation Operating Environment" Cd's dated June 2003. Upon using this same Bastille depot, I'm getting an installation failure on the file /etc/opt/sec_mgmt/bastille/Questions.txt.
It tells me "Could not access remote file
I;ve also freshly downloaded the depot from the website and am getting the same result.
Any issues with this particular "Foundation Operating Environment" or potential solution?

Re: HP-UX Bastille 2.1 released!
Can you tell us what "yada yada yada" is? Also, check your /var/adm/sw/*.log and find any relavant information. Are you installing from a remote depot or local?
It is quite odd that Questions.txt would be singled out. Have you installed other depots on this same machine?

Re: HP-UX Bastille 2.1 released!
cksum for the depot:
1150069911 307200 B6849AA_B.02.01.01_HP-UX_B.11.00_32+64.depot
The snippet from the swagent.log is attached.
This was a local depot.
One other interesting note. Before I pressed submit here, I did the following:
I untar'd the depot file. I then took the Questions.txt file from a working installation and re-gzipped it and replaced the one in the depot with this one. The install completed correctly.

http://aa11.cjb.net/hpux_admin/2001/01/0195.html
(I got these mostly from a google search of "Could not access remote file" "internal error")
It appears that:
1. The problem is unrelated to Bastille
2. The error message shows up in OEs other than June 2003
3. Several different solutions worked...and each appears to be completely unrelated. The one about /etc/hosts not matching DNS made the most sense to me, since SD is pretty picky about that sort of thing.
I have no idea what would be unique about Questions.txt that you wouldn't get this error on other files...Questions.txt is in the middle of the packaging specification. The cksum looks fine. I tried a download and install; cksum matches yours and the install went fine.
Hope that gives some insight at least. Glad to hear the install eventually went ok.

Re: HP-UX Bastille 2.1 released!
Thanks Keith,
I'm experiencing some weirdness with other depots on this install too. Due to not having enough time to troubleshoot, I'm going back to the March 2003 Golden Image instead of the June 2003 CD's.
If I can, I'll try the June '03 CD's on another server to see if the problem persists and try the suggestions. For now, it'll remain an unknown.
Pts weren't necessary, and I should be giving them to you :) Thanks for the research.
Good product.

Re: HP-UX Bastille 2.1 released!
Update...
It has continued to happen with the March '03 CD's too. There was a hit for removing the 127.0.0.1
Removed, restarted swagentd, all is good.
Thanks again, 'nother 10 for ya (i'll keep track in my head :) )

Re: HP-UX Bastille 2.1 released!
One other interesting note. This did not happen when installing from a CD, only from a depot on disk.
