The target is HP Server N series, with 4 lan cards.
I want to protect the lan card 3 using the 4 one:
e.g. 121.2.3.15 must be on lan3 if running, or on lan4 otherwise.
Moreover I want to be able to run OTS9000 on top
of these two lancards without any awareness that they are 2 and not only one ....
in other words I'd like to use a single virtual lan card
which hides two real cards, running in a 1+1 protection schema.
I don't want to use MC-service guard.
Do you know if HP-UX has embedded capabilities to manage this kind of protection? Or if such capabilities are planned in some future releases?
Thank you.

Solution
HP calls their solution to your problem Auto Port Aggregation. Use this link to get a description. Last I looked, I think a license for the product cost about $1300.

Re: HP-UX Embedded Lancard protection
Is this solution valid only for IP addresses or also for OSI ones?
