HP-UX HIDS v3.1 available spring 2005

Since the release of HIDS v3.0 last December, we have received positive feedback on improved performance and alert filtering capability of HIDS v3.0. We encourage you to upgrade to v3.0, available at software.hp.com, if you have not already done so. Please be sure to read the V3.0 Release Notes at docs.hp.com before installing this new major release of HIDS.

We have also received defect reports and have implemented fixes that will be delivered in a maintenance release of HIDS (version 3.1). Most notable for v3.1 are fixes to a few instances of idscor process terminating abnormally, and an enhancement to supply the remote IP address and hostname from which a (potential) attack was initiated.

HIDS v3.1 is targeted for general availability (via software.hp.com) sometime in the spring 2005.

Hmmm - time to remember the good intentions and finally start using HIDS :)
yesterday I stood at the edge. Today I'm one step ahead.
