HP-UX installation failure

Hi,

I was installing HP-UX 11iv2.

The installation is hung after installing all filesets. It displays the following:-

END install AGENT SESSION (pid=350)
(jobid=loopback-0001)

* Software installation of this source (B3920 11.23 Foundation OE: DVD1)
is complete.

USER INTERACTION REQUIRED:

To complete the installation you must now insert the
"B3920 11.23 Foundation OE: DVD2" CD.

Unable to verify CD-ROM media content for source "B3920 11.23 Foundation OE: DV.
Please make certain the correct media is in the drive.

There are four possible recovery actions:

1: Retry software load after replacing CD-ROM media.
2: Continue using CD-ROM media. Some or all additional software
will not be installed and errors are likely.
3: Run a shell.
4: Terminate installation. The system will require reinstallation.

What should be done next or which option should I select. Kindly advice...

Shalom Bachur,

I'm assuming you tried to switch to the second OS DVD. If not, do so.

If you did, you probably have bad media and simply need to get new media. You can verfigy the media is good in another HP server.

I have not yet switched to the second DVD.
Out of the four options listed above which option should I select now to eject the DVD and insert the second DVD.

Just eject the first DVD, insert the second and press . That's it. Your option is *retry* after changing the DVD.

chose option 1
push the eject on your dvdrom
insert the second dvd in dvdrom
press at the terminal

Just eject DVD 1, from tray and insert DVD 2 and hit return.

If the process fails probably you will have a bad media, or bad CDROM.

Try the DVDs in another server, just to make sure the media is OK.
