HP-UX NFS exported filesystem permissions on Linux
How do we retain the permissions of filesystems exported from HP-UX and mounted on Linux.
UID's & GID's have been take care of. I have created users on Linux with same UID:GID as HP-UX
Additionally If I want to mount filesystems using autofs, I hope I need to change the permission of the softlink pointing to the directory?

Re: HP-UX NFS exported filesystem permissions on Linux
Shalom,
All possible permission schemes including softlink will work. The key is having a system like NIS/LDAP to manage users to keep user numeric id consistent across all servers.
If you have proper integration you should not have to change permissions. It seems you need a management system of some sort. This will avoid the issues are are asking about.
