Unfortunately the answer is no.
My house is the bank's, my money the wife's, But my opinions belong to me, not HP!

Re: HP-UX on my laptop

Hi Victor,

Nope, there is no HPUX for laptops.

Try to locate a low priced workstation on ebay.

Hope this helps,

Re: HP-UX on my laptop

Victor,
can't run HP on laptop.
I would suggest talking to your manager to get a cheap workstation. This will save on downtime and callout charges! Well worth the money, so is some manuals/books.
The best way to learn is to play with the workstation until it breaks and then fix it.
If using ebay have a look at the unixnerd page.

Re: HP-UX on my laptop

Hi Victor,

HP-UX *only* runs on PA-RISC & Itanium-2 processors. So if your laptop does not have either of these - you're out of luck.
And as far as I know, nobody has ever built a laptop with a PA-RISC CPU and nobody - to date - has released one with an Itanium-2 CPU as well.
If you want to run HP-UX check e-bay for a used D, R, or even a K-class server or even a B, C, or J-class workstation. They can be had *cheap* nowadays.

My 2 cents,
Jeff

Re: HP-UX on my laptop

There were several PA-RISC laptops (or
maybe "portables" would be more accurate)
in years past...

Re: HP-UX on my laptop

The Tadpole PrecisionBook and Galaxy portables were extremely expensive when they were produced. Here's a picture and details: http://www.scpi.com/precisionbook.html but the latest web page is: http://www.gosignal.com/productlist2.cfm?tempcat=Unix-Laptops&tempcat2=HP-Laptops&expand=yes&expandcat2=yes&cat3=HP-Laptops-HP-PrecisionBook
