HP-UX Remote Printing and Zebra QL 320 Timeout Problem

Hi,

I have a small problem with remote printing on one of my HP-UX machines.

We have some small Zebra QL 320 direct thermal mobile printers set-up on our HP-UX machine as remote printers (Set up using SAM).

These printers work fine until the printers go into standby. When this occurs the unix queue becomes disabled and before the printers can be used we have to enable the printer queue.

I have found a temporary solution which is to set-up a continuous ping to the printer which stops the printer from timing out however this is by no means ideal.

We have checked on the actual hardware but have been unable to find a value for the standby process to switch it off.

Any advice would be appreciated.

hi ,
i dint thinking this HP UX problem,
you can telnet to printer then check any option for sytem standby.If that is enabled , u can disable .
