HP-UX Standard Patch Bundles
Hi all,
I want to ask what should be done When getting the support plus cd patches every quarter, is it to uninstall previous installed Bundels (Gols Base, Gold Application,....etc) and install the new one or just install the new bundles on the machine over the previous patches.
Tamer.

Re: HP-UX Standard Patch Bundles
You don't need to uninstall anything (unless the
release notes specifically says anything about
uninstalling some patch/fileset). Just install
the patches over the old ones and you should
be okay.

Re: HP-UX Standard Patch Bundles
Also, I want to ask if installing all new patches, fixes, ..etc is affecting machine performance or not (knowing that I have good configuration in my servers (rp 4440))? If so, how to compromise between these two issues? what is the issue of higher priority? (note:servers are not connected to the Internet)

Re: HP-UX Standard Patch Bundles
If you are installing new patches on existing products,
that should not affect the performance in a negative
way. I don't think HP will release a patche if that slows
down the product. But it's always a good idea to
note down the current server configurations before
you install the patch. You could also take look at the
patch document to see exactly which defects are
fixed in that patch and if there is anything about
performance mentioned there.
