HP-UX Support Plus quarterly distribution media CD's: Patches, Firmware etc updates

Does anyone know if the Support Plus Media distribution CD's are still being delivered?

Or.. Some method of receiving updates on CD's?

Hi Roger:

In my opinion, The easiest way to obtain these is to use SWA (Software Assistant Tool).

SWA will download the standard bundles and/or other patches and create a depot for installation for you. There are many threads on this subject; one such is:

hi,

yes there still available if you hav a valid software support contract, but I think you have to login to the itrc and order them now when you want them, HP doesnt automaticaly ship them out. For 11.23 they changed the name to the support pack though

Few points:

1) There is no quarterly media distribution, it is done bi-annually, twice a year.
2) If you have a software contract and use SUM, you can get new OS media, Internet Express and Application media shipped to you. HP still prefers this over downloads which can be hacked into.

Why is this so difficult? There doesn't seem to be one clear, clean and easy method to order an OS upgrade or update package and software patch/firmware QPK hard media CD or DVD or e-delivery. For something that should be so simple, I should have one button for all upgrades, H/W, S/W, OS, Firmware, Docs, etc. Customer's should not have to dig and dig. If e-Delivery is going to be successful, the front screen needs to be very very well laid out. Right now, it seems like a hodgepodge of stuff thrown out there to let the user figure it out.
