HP-UX vs. AIX

Does anyone know of any documented reviews of AIX vs. HP-UX as operating systems. I need some evidence to support my assertion that HP-UX is a better choice. Thanks in Advance

Re: HP-UX vs. AIX

Recently Amazon.com and Ebay.com have moved from Sun to HP. That should be enough of a recommendation that HP is the superior to flavour of Unix - and IBM/AIX didnt even get a lookin.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

I'm not sure this helps, but take a look at:

Ron,
For one thing HPUX is becomming more popular. AIX is declining in popularity. One of the reasons is IBM is directing more of their efforts to a linux based O/S. They are both comparable, HP actually licensed the Logical Volume Manager from IBM who developed it and used it under SMIT. But overall HPUX is more versital.

Re: HP-UX vs. AIX

There are a variety of organizations that evaluate machines, OS's, etc. Here are some:

Unfortunately, a lot of the reports are fee based if you get them directly, but you can find a lot of the same info by drilling down through the sales oriented areas in the HP and IBM websites in the whitepapers areas.

Comparing equipment is a lot like comparing job offers; do you select based on the salary or the combined salary/benefits package? When you read through this stuff try to focus on how the benefits or drawbacks of each impact your industry group and organization.
