Re: HP Veritas VM & 11.x
Hi!
Veritas sells VxVM for 11.00 and 11i directly and independently from HP... however, without any HP support.
HP delivers VxVM for 11i only (11.11 and Itanium releases). And only these configurations are then officially HP-supported.
Regards...
Dietmar.

Re: HP Veritas VM & 11.x
11.x generally means all 11 versions. But as 11i comes in the flavors 11.11, 11.20 & 11.22 and are a separate release satream 11.x mainly refers to 11.00. To distinguish the different 11i releases they have got version numbers. 11.11 = 11i v1.0, 11.20=11i v1.5, 11.22=11iv1.6.
HP only supports Veritas VM on 11i (VxVM 3.1).
But Veritas sells and supports it for 11.00 (VxVM 3.0).
Regards,
Trond

Solution
11i includes a lot of patches to get from 11.00 to 11i (11.11).
11i supports vPars (virtual partitioning).
11i supports some newer hardware (but not everything).
This explains it:
