Re: HP Visualize 3000 Workstation not getting booted
You can interrupt the boot process and do a sea ipl. This will list alle the devices you can boot from. If you get an answer go for bo P
If a normal boot does not work you can try booting in signle user mode.
Interaqct with IPL: Y
hpux -is
If not you will have to boot from recovery disk ( cdrom )/ or ignite tape if you created one.

Re: HP Visualize 3000 Workstation not getting booted
i gave the command sea ipl
it gave me error message
entry_init failed status=-4

Re: HP Visualize 3000 Workstation not getting booted
I am afraid your HD is dead. If you have a support contract call HP, if not google for a new disk and start over again.

Re: HP Visualize 3000 Workstation not getting booted
I dont have too much info to hand but a process for elination is to unplug the scsi cable from the hard disk and boot the system interrupt the boot process and issue SEA command if you get no errors its the disk if you do still get an error then its not the disk.

Re: HP Visualize 3000 Workstation not getting booted
I did remove the disk and gave sea command, system didnt generate any error messages apart from this i even booted the system from the recovery disk it showed an error message :
"NOTE : THERE ARE NO DISK DEVICES FOUND DURING THE SCAN MAKE SURE THAT THE DESTINATION DISK ARE CONNECTED AND POWERED ON"
so right now i am sure that the disk on the system is damaged.
CAN I CONNECT AN IDE DISK TO THE SYSTEM SO THAT FOR THE TIME BEING I CAN INSTALL MY O.S. ON IT AND START MY WORK TILL I GET MY NEW SCSI DISK..
DOES THIS HARDWARE SUPPORT IDE DISK FOR HP-UX INSTALLATIONS ??
thanks,
amit
