HP Visualize Conference running in background

Hi everybody.

One of my users wants to use HPVC on his workstation. I can log in to his workstation from my PC and run HPVC successfully. But when he tries to run it, or if I try to run it from the console, nothing happens. ps -ef|grep hpvc reveals that it is running in the background.

Anyone any idea why this is happening and what I can do to rectify it before I pull out what's left of my hair?

Other things, such as sam, work properly on the console.
