HP VISUALIZE-FXE color 1280x1024 48

Hello,
I am currently working on configuring a virtual HP 9000 environment and require in-depth technical specifications of the HP VISUALIZE-FXE graphics interface card (Color 1280x1024 48) in order to emulate its functionality accurately.

While I already have the general documentation and some high-level details, I am specifically looking for the following low-level technical specifications to support the visualization and possible integration of this card in virtually.

Bit-level architecture and data paths

Register map and memory/register allocation details

PCI/graphics bus interface specifications

Frame buffer configuration and memory addressing scheme

Color depth and pixel format (for the 48-bit color)

Interrupt handling (if applicable)

Driver or firmware interaction notes (if any available for HP-UX)

Initialization sequences and BIOS-level configuration (if applicable)

Any microcode or hardware-level diagnostics historically used with this card on HP-UX systems

The goal is to enable a fully functional graphical environment within the virtualized system, closely replicating the behavior of the original hardware.

Any official datasheets, internal HP engineering notes, developer guides, or legacy technical documentation would be immensely helpful.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards
Anand

Re: HP VISUALIZE-FXE color 1280x1024 48

Hi @Anand3719 ,

HP VISUALIZE-FXE/5/10 devices have a total of 4 hardware colormaps. 2 of the colormaps are dedicated to the overlay planes. The remaining 2
colormaps are dedicated to the image planes.

Of the two overlay colormaps, one is permanently reserved for the default colormap. The other overlay colormap is available to applications.

This post might help you.

Re: HP VISUALIZE-FXE color 1280x1024 48

Hi @Harshitha_K
Sorry, but I wasn’t able to find the exact solution I’m looking for. I already have the general documentation, but what I specifically need are the detailed technical specifications of the HP VISUALIZE-FXE (Color 1280x1024 48) graphics interface card — including information such as bit-level details, register allocations, and low-level architecture.

I need these details to properly bring the card into visualization or emulation.

Best regards
Anand
