HP vitual servers.

I have a vm host server and one vm server which I would like to assign the host tape drives for backups. Does anyone know what command I can used to assign physical tape devices to a new VM.

environment: Itanium rx6600 hpux11.23 V2

thanks

Re: HP vitual servers.

The format to assign a tape is

# hpvmmodify -P guest1 -a tape:scsi::attach:/dev/rscsi/cXtYdZ

See the manual for more information.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

hpvmmodify -P vm001 -a tape:scsi::attach:/dev/rmt/2mn

gives the following error
/# hpvmmodify -P vm001 -a tape:scsi::attach:/dev/rmt/2mn
hpvmmodify: ERROR (vm001): Incorrect backing device type.
hpvmmodify: Unable to create device tape:scsi::attach:/dev/rmt/2mn.
