HP9000 L2000 , modem conf
I have configured an external modem in an HP9000 L2000 box, everything seems to be ok, I dial in in to the box and receive the HP-UX login, but whatever I write is not get it by the box, I have configured in the box, VT100, SW flow control, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks!!

Re: HP9000 L2000 , modem conf
After dial into the 9000 box I got:
# ps -ef | grep ttyd0p2
root 6174 1 0 18:57:19 ttyd0p2 0:00 /usr/sbin/getty -h ttyd0p2 H
and:
# stty < /dev/ttyd0p2
speed 9600 baud; -parity hupcl clocal
min = 1; intr = ^C;
eof = ^A; swtch
brkint -inpck -istrip icrnl onlcr tab3
-iexten echo -echoe echok
-echoctl -echoke
I send CTRL C several times but the result is the same. I cant sent the user and the password, I cant write anything.
# echo "123" > /dev/ttyd0p2
writes 123 in my hyperterminal session. the problem is from the remote session to the 9000 box.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance.
Regards.

Re: HP9000 L2000 , modem conf
What does your gettydefs file entry look like for your modem ?? we use the following;
hpmod96 # B9600 HUPCL SANE CS8 ISTRIP IXANY TAB3
# B9600 HUPCL SANE CS8 ISTRIP IXANY TAB3
#Modem 9600 login: #hpmod96
And in /etc/inittab;
a0:234:respawn:/etc/getty -h -t 60 ttyd0p0 hpmod96
And I use MS HyperTerminal from my PC at home, it works fine. This should work for you too. You didnt say what type of modem you are using ?? If you still have problems its the entries in the gettydefs file you need to change.
