HPAPA on rp4440

I have an rp4440 onto which I am trying to install HPAPA. I installed J4240AA B.11.11.00 and rebooted my server. APA appeared in SAM but I had no network cards listed so I was unable to create an aggregate. The network cards I want to aggregate are A7012A dual port gig cards. I ran a patch analysis and it was reported that patch PHNE_28778 (APA cumulative patch) was missing. This has been downloaded and installed.

When the machine reboots the basic lan card configuration fails, when I remove the hp_apa driver from the kernel all is OK (except APA doesn't work!).

Any suggestions?

Re: HPAPA on rp4440

Suggestions:

1) After the last patch install, did you reinstall the HAPA drivers?

I didn't reinstall the HPAPA_drivers. The driver was in the kernel after the patch install but I get no network, that is why I removed the driver from the kernel.

2) Have you gone through the configuration steps?

I have not tried the configuration steps but as I have no hp_apa driver in the kernel then I think this would not work ?

3) Other possible APA patches.

PHNE_28778
PHNE_28799
PHNE_28888
PHNE_28923
PHNE_29945
PHNE_31247
PHSS_27158
PHSS_29120

5) Is the card supported by APA?

Yes, the card is supported by APA.

Re: HPAPA on rp4440

I would run the patch list and install patches and dependencies.

Then I would swremove the HAPA software and install it again.

Then I'd begin the configuration process anew.

Good Luck,

Re: HPAPA on rp4440

swverify the installation of J42240A and PHNE_28778 - maybe something didn't completely apply.

Re: HPAPA on rp4440

When you/the system is trying to create an aggregate from the dual-port NICs, you are sure that the NIC's themselves have not been ifconfig'd right? That is, one cannot have lan0 and lan1 ifconfiged and then try to create an aggregate from them on lan900.
