HPD350 running 11.0 won't boot

I have an HPD350 that won't boot for me. It gets to the following point and just sticks there:
/sbin/bcheckrc:
Check for LVM volume groups and activating (if any exist)
Volume group "/dev/vg00" has been successfully changed

It just sits there forever. The machine has 5 4.3 Gig drives in the case. The 4th one down flashes its light every second or so. It's hardware address would be 8/14.10.0. It also has an external storage enclosure with 2 18.2Gig drives.

Help!

Re: HPD350 running 11.0 won't boot

Hi,

Looks like you have a problem with the volume group that is possibly on disk 8/14.10.0. The first thing to try would be to isolate these external disk(s) by terminating it from your server and attempt a reboot.

Re: HPD350 running 11.0 won't boot

I figured I had nothing to lose so I unplugged the drive and plugged it back in. The boot continued immediatly.

Just to make sure I rebooted and it came right back up.

kevin,

On the lighter side, wouldn't this statement be an oxymoron ??

HPD350 running 11.0 won't boot

If it's not booting, then it's not running, right ?? I got a good giggle out of it! Glad to see you tried the good old -> check the wires/cables trick :-)

Re: HPD350 running 11.0 won't boot

It was running...just not well. It had partial booted, sort of. I guess it would have been like if your car started but wouldn't go into drive.

I sure wouldn't have laughed a few hours ago. I am glad it was just that simple.
