HPRadia and Itanium

To all,

We have HPRadia running on our PARisc systems and I'm tyring to confirm wheteher or not I need new agent software when I move to Itanium servers. Does the process stay in the
/opt/NOVADIGM directory? Does it require same privilieges?

TIA,

Re: HPRadia and Itanium

Shalom,

I don't have to know anything about HPRadia to answer this.

HP-UX Itanium has an emulation called Aries that permits you to run pa-risc binaries on Itanium. So technically you need change nothing. We tested it once and took a 70% performance hit on our core apps.

So, get an Itanium version and be done with it.

Hi Chuck,

I m not sure if you know this OV Radia documentation site :-

http://ovweb.external.hp.com/lpe/doc_serv/

I looked at support matrix it is support for IA platform, so no additional agent software requited.

Please look at the site.

Stephen,

Once again you represent the candid real world experience. I am surprised at the performance hit from Aires. The sessions at the Tech forum in 2006 did not indicate that much of a hit. Bummer.

WhiteKnight,

Thanks for the link to the OpenView stuff. Looks like I have some reading to do.
