What is the difference between Discontinued and Obsoleted?

Will HP supply new patches after the Discontinued date?

My understanding is that ---

discontinued - after this date you can no longer be able to purchase that particular version but there will be patch releases from the vendor.

obsoleted - no further vendor support after this date (including patch releases, bug fixes etc).

Just to add to Sundar. Patches will still be available for some time. As an example 10.20 has been obsolete for some but patches are still available, but not any new ones. Yes discontinued, means that product can no longer be purchased.

Guys,
No patches are available currently for 10.20, I checked up with HP-RC guys they always say no 10.20, soon the same will happend to 11.x,HP will first stop selling 11.00 and then they will stop the support for 11.00.
New release of hp-ux parisc is said to be released on 2005 and 2006..which integerates some of the features of TRU64...and I think TRU-clusters are going to be part of HP MC-SG.
