hpux 11.31

hi all

we re getting 2 new itanium superdomes next month running 11.31. we re basically an oracle shop with some homegrown n 3 party apps thrown in, that r currently running on an hpux 11.11 pa-risc dome.

is it too early to go to 11.31, i d like to
cause i heard it has many san friendly features, but i get a little jittery cause it just came out.

We are running it now on a few servers with no issues at all (except you can't use DMP to Clariion - yet).

11.31 is solid but as with any migration it's not very wise to move without first testing. Well-written application should port without problems but ... . Yours is a perfect example of why a sandbox and test (those are not the same) environment are needed. Your sandbox doesn't have to be a 'dome; a small box purchased on the used-equipment market will work very nicely.

I was not aware 11.31 was certified with Oracle. See that your Oracle product is and make sure you install requires OS patches.

I'd be wary, especially with Oracle.

hi,

make sure you double check your apps and everything will run ok. Also check your licencing.

I would want to run the upgrade as a test first, for a while to make sure you dont have to many problems/none before going live.

as your going up two OS jumps in one from

11.11 - 11.23 - 11.31
