hpux_aes_override - a private tunable kernel parameter

I have a customer who wants to set the "hpux_aes_override" parameter to 1 on a machine running 11.11.
The default is 0.
After I set it, using kmtune the output is:
Current Dyn Planned
- - 1

I believe I have done what was requested.
How can I do a check to confirm this?
What exactly is a "private tunable"?
Why is the "current" value set to "-"?

Thanks for any help.

Re: hpux_aes_override - a private tunable kernel parameter

Check with this command ..

# echo "hpux_aes_override/D" |adb -k /stand/vmunix /dev/mem
