HPUX and EVA 4000
I am trying to present drives from the EVA4000 to the HPUX server FOE 11.23 on Itanium.
I can connect two drives, lets say a 30GB drive and a 60GB drive. once I present another 30GB drive, in the SAM console, the paths to the first 30GB drive go from 4 paths to 8 paths. I have presented the drives with diffrent LUN's and the same issue is there
something I am missing? or can anyone point me to a document that has a step by step on connecting a HPUX to the EVA?
(Hope this makes sense) Thanks

Re: HPUX and EVA 4000
this is not clear to me:
" have presented the drives with diffrent LUN's and the same issue is there"
You are presenting vdisks. It is pretty normal to each vdisk 4 times, depending on your configuration/cabling.
HP-UX is able to handle this, but you may also use additional software (secure-/autopath).
All pathes are connected to the same vdisk device.
How about an ioscan -fnCdisk and ioscan -fn?
If you observe the SAM output on your screen, you will see multiple pathes for one device.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HPUX and EVA 4000
have you looked at the manuals at:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual〈=en&cc=us&docIndexId=179111&taskId=101&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=470490
Especially first document in "setup and install"
