HPUX and EVA3000
Dear all,
I'm connecting 2 rp7400 HPUX 11i system to EVA3000 for MCSG purposes, but after I present the LUN to both of server, the device file cXtYdZ is always change, and always detected as different cxtydz. Let say in the server1 EVA3000 LUN detected as c3t0d0, but in the server2 detected as c2t0d1, even I have installed the latest secure path version.
Does anybody can help me ?
Many thanks in advance.
BR,
Otong

Re: HPUX and EVA3000
Hi Otong.
I think there is one LUN you had only present for server2. so when you present more LUN the file divice is different. but in this case. MCSG is still understand your configuration. Let try.

Re: HPUX and EVA3000
There is absolutly no problem with this.
The device files won't matter as long as your boxes see the LUN and have access to the logical volumes .
Regards
Rainer

Re: HPUX and EVA3000
Hi Otong,
As an aditional for others's replies it is very normal because they are different systems so every LUN from EVA you created and presented to both hosts and then when run "ioscan -fnCdisk" on hosts you see
different device file address.Also you can
check this difference via running the command below on hosts;
#spmgr display
returns something like;
(see my attachment)
Hope this Helps,
Good Luck,
