HPUX Enterprise Operating Environment CD

I had a HPUX 11.11 server crash in such a way as I had to rebuild it from scratch (don't bother asking about why it was not ignited - long story). The CD that we wanted to rebuild from was an Enterprise CD that had (as expected) all of the good stuff that we normally use (ie: Mirror/US, Glance, etc). Unfortunately, we lost this CD for a few weeks, thus we had to rebuild the server from a standard issue CD...

Just last week, we found the Enterprise CD and would really like to get the code word products installed WITHOUT rebuilding the OS. Can anyone let me know if there is a way to do this??

Thanks for your help!!

Hi,

Why would you need to rebuild the OS. You can install the components you require and then enter or add the code words in the require places.

Re: HPUX Enterprise Operating Environment CD

If your OS is already installed then go ahead and install required products (Mirror/UX, Glance, etc)from Application CD.

Hi,

Keep in mind, that the installation of these products could require overwriting
some installed things /sometime/, changing
the appropriate options and additional patches too..

Re: HPUX Enterprise Operating Environment CD

Hey Jeff,

I believe that even on the OE versions of 11.11 you still need the "code word" or license code to install these products from the CD/DVD.

If you don't have your license paperwork you can call HP and get them to email you new ones. If you do, go online and get your new code word. You will need to have the physical CD/DVD product number in order to do this.

Have you tried to just mount your enterpise CD and do a swinstall to see if you're able to install the wanted products ?
