I am new to hp but not new to unix. I have a K-class without a support. I installed the core OS on this server. When I try to install different bundels (XSWHWCD1100 and XSWGR1100 and ... from the CD ) it tells me that I need to install some patches like PHNE_19094, PHKL_22031, and ... I down loaded the patches and used swcopy to create a depot. when I tried to install my depot it say can not install it because some filesets are not installed. Also, when I try to install the depot(s) individually I fails for some fileset being missed. Could you be nice enough to let me know what are exact steps I need to follow to install hpux correctly? I really appreciate the time you are taking to help me out.
thank

Re: hpux install
Custom Patch Manager (CPM) on the ITRC web site requires a support contract or it be purchased.

Re: hpux install
It's free if you have a support contract. If not, the note says it:
[$] can be purchased online if you are not already entitled to it

SolutionWhen running swinstall, you should not select the patches but use :
Action --> Manage Pach Selection
then unselect "include patch..." and select "Automatically select..."
It should work.
