Re: hpux installation on a laptop
HP-UX is platform dependent OS. specific platform like PA-RISC or Itanium based is its home base. It has no release like Sun Solaris x86 version.
so no way man.

Re: hpux installation on a laptop
I suppose that having Solaris on x86 put "a flea in the ears" to many people, so someone expects HP has released a HP-UX version for x86 too. It's not so.
HP-UX can be installed onto HP9000 PA-RISC, Integrity Servers and, just for 11.31, onto some kind of Blades.
Best regards,
Fabio
P.S.: in Italy "a flea in the ears" is a witty remark to say "something little is put in the mind of the people".

Re: hpux installation on a laptop
If we are trying to tell kacou that he needs either PA-RISC or Integrity, we shouldn't say "some kind" of Blades. Some could be x86, Solaris or IBM. :-)

Re: hpux installation on a laptop
I read this as "some kind of Blades", not
"all kinds of Blades".
> Some could be x86, Solaris or IBM.
No, those would not be "some", those would be
"other".

Re: hpux installation on a laptop
I'll formulate again the statement:
HP-UX 11.31 can be installed also onto the Integrity Blades listed into the following document:
www.hp.com/go/hpuxservermatrix
kacou, you can consider the above link to know all systems where HP-UX can be installed.
Best regards,
Fabio

Re: hpux installation on a laptop
But..anyway, don't think you have one of those.
Into a normal laptop, you cannot .

Re: hpux installation on a laptop
Is Google broken again? Or does a search for
tadpole hp-ux
find thousands of hints?

http://www.openpa.net/systems/index.html
"...Two portable PA-RISC computers were produced by third-party vendors (RDI/Tadpole and SAIC), closely based on the HP 712 and C132/C160L workstationsâ designs. ..."
Well, the 712 was nice too ... ;-)
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
