HPUX Jet Admin

I am using JetAdmin (I believe the latest downloadable version) and I have
created a print spooler, option 3 in Jet Admin. When a user submits multiple
report files to the print spooler there is a pause between each print job.
Most of the print jobs are small, 1 and 2 pages, and sometimes it can be 5 to 7
second delay between reports.

My question is, how do I get rid of the delay between print requests?

Thank you

Re: HPUX Jet Admin

The delay can be caused by a number of things. It could be the printer, the
network, the spooler, or something else on the system, or a combination of all
these.

This short of a delay is not at all unusual. Remember, patience is a virtue :)

Re: HPUX Jet Admin

Something to note: are these plain ASCII text files or complex print jobs with fonts, graphics, etc? The printer cannot format images instantly so there will be delays while the printer computes internally. During this time, the BUSY indicator will be flashing. If the delays occur with simple ASCII text files (not jobs from word processors) then network delays may be a possibility. Certainly, LAN delays can cause intermittant delays but all the HP LaserJets have large internal buffers so it is unlikely that the buffers have become empty.
