hpux lvm on linux

I'm looking to have a redhat LINUX (rhel 4) server import/mount HPUX 11.11 volume groups.

is this even possible? how would it be done?

How about via NFS? Set up the file system in /etc/exports, run "exportfs -a", then mount it from the Linux box.

Shalom,

Though the commands work a lot alike LVM for linux started as a feature/command port. It was not based on the same code base as HP-UX.

I do not believe it is possible to export/import volume groups between Linux and HP-UX LVM.

this is a solution for backups and NFS is an alternative method. we may be doing just that. the issue is with our SAN and that the clariion cannot 'see' our server through the IVR (inner VSAM routing).

hey I had to try ... anyways ... all information (and now another thread) have indicated that, indeed, this will not work. I wish I had found that thread before I posted.
