Solution
10.20 needs specific hardware enablement patches (and is unsupported)
11.00 needs specific hardware enablement patches (not necessarly, but I saw some lockups until they were installed). 11.00 is outdated today
11.11 is perfect for it, current and supported
11.23 won't run (needs ia64)
11.31 is unsupported on pa-risc *workstations*, I don't know if it'll just work.
go with 11.11!

Get the Workstation edition of 11.11 It will have all the correct drivers for your workstation.
