HPUX swinstall Help - Network Not Up

I have a HP-UX 11.0 box that was installed with the wrong interafce - ethernet instead of FDDI. I have loaded up the install CD and am trying to run SAM to install the FDDI drivers but since the system is not connected to an ethernet LAn, the network is not fully up and SAM/swinstall is complaining that root@hostname is not available.

Any tricks I could employ to swinstall to force an install?

First look at the URL shared with you.

If that isn't all you need,
reconfigure the loopback interface. I found that worked when other solutions didn't.
