HPUX system recovery method
I have a two node cluster setup comprising of Itanium based servers rx7620.
What kind of system recovery method can I apply in this scenario as make_tape_recovery is not supported in Itanium servers, i.e. the Itanium server cannot boot from the tape.
Kindly let me know whether I can implement golden images, if yes let me know the steps.
Regards,
Naveen

Re: HPUX system recovery method
The preferred method would be make_net_recovery.
But you can do make_tape_recovery - you just need to boot the CD & then extract the M_T_R tape afterwards.

Re: HPUX system recovery method
If you have a tape drive, make_tape_recovery is supported. It won't work to a tape library through a san, but it is possible.

You absolutely can implement golden images and/or make_net_recovery
make_net_recovery seems the more reasonable option in this situation.

Re: HPUX system recovery method
In my case of a two node cluster, can I keep the golden image archive of one node on the other and vice versa?
If I implement make_net_recovery which would be my Ignite-UX server. Does this mean I have to configure a different server in my network as a Ignite-UX server apart from the two cluster nodes?
Can the archive of one of the cluster node using make_net_recovery be there on the other node?

Naveen
